Brand Spotlight - GreenTripe

At Rawsome Pet Pantry, our mission is to bring premium, nutritious and affordable raw pet food to as many pets as possible. One essential way we do this is by carrying premium brands such as GreenTripe.

Located in Gilroy, CA, and established in 2003, GreenTripe is a small family-owned business specializing in raw frozen green tripe.

Like ours, their story started with a dog; specifically, an Afghan Hound named “Chubaca” (“Chewy” for short). While working in the Netherlands, founders Mary and Peter Voss learned about the benefits of green tripe from local dog breeders. When they returned to the States in the early nineties, to their dismay they discovered that green tripe and information on raw feeding was sorely lacking.

Determined to provide the best for their beloved Chewy, Mary began connecting with local butchers to source quality meat. As word spread of her work and passion, Mary soon became a valuable guide and resource for other dog owners seeking to raw feed. GreenTripe was even featured twice in the Whole Dog Journal!

Today, they continue to provide beloved dogs and cats throughout California with the finest, naturally grass-fed beef that delivers unmatched quality and wholesome nutrition. Their brand is known for the highest standards of quality with USDA-inspected meat, carefully sourced from facilities approved for human consumption.

Mary passed in 2021 but her legacy lives on through her husband, Peter, and their daughter, Kirsten, who manage the family business.

At Rawsome Pet Pantry, we’re grateful for the dedicated folks at GreenTripe who pioneered raw feeding in the US and continue to provide high-quality, nutritious raw pet food. We’re especially thankful for the healthy and happy bellies GreenTripe has given our doodles.
