Meet Louie! The Newest Member of the Rawsome Pack

Our home has always been a dog home. In fact, without all the wet noses, sloppy kisses, tug of war matches, and strewn-around-the-house squeaker toys, our house would scarce be a home at all.

We have had the privilege of sharing our home with some pretty amazing four-legged friends. From purebred working dogs to Heinz-57 rescues, every dog that has graced our home taught us valuable life lessons and holds a special place in our hearts. 

Today, three floofy goofballs occupy our hearts and our home: Henry, George, and Louie. They are all doodles, and as you probably already know, that means a few things. They’ll ask you to throw the ball but not bring it back. They’ll steal your socks. They’re not shy about telling you what they think with even a look (resting doodle face is real, yo). They’re sensitive and dramatic. They flop themselves anywhere they choose (even the verboten couch). They have toe beans. They sleep in the most uncomfortable positions. They never seem to get enough pets. And they would rather be next to their humans more than anywhere else in the world.

When we decided to get another dog, we weren’t sure how it might affect current pack dynamics. Henry and George are half-brothers separated by two years. They have bonded well. We wondered if Louie would be a third wheel.

When we brought Louie home, Henry, being the alpha and at times a bit of a grump, was reserved and kept his distance for a couple weeks. George however started playing and interacting with Louie from day one. Thankfully, Louie has a persistence and charm that won over both boys, even Mr. Henry Grumpypants.

Louie recently turned 6 months old and is thriving on Albright’s Puppy Recipe. This Bernedoodle boy has so much personality. He’s very vocal and will tell you exactly what he thinks. The consummate snuggle bug, he knows no such thing as personal space. He’s extremely smart and already knows how to heel, walk off leash, sit, stay, place, leave it and find it.

His favorite things are food, wrestling, nature walks, and cuddles.

His least favorite things are the vacuum (we’re working on that), having his face cleaned after a meal, and when George beats him at tug of war (but he keeps showing up for rematches!)

Louie has definitely found his place in the pack, and as always, our hearts.
